The International Journal of Tourism Trends (IJTT) is an Open Journal Systems (OJS)-based, open-access publication dedicated to advancing global tourism scholarship through transparent and accessible research dissemination.

The journal’s primary language is English, with selected publications also available in Indonesian to broaden engagement with the academic community and tourism industry professionals across Southeast Asia.


Focus and Scope

IJTT publishes original research articles, reviews, and conceptual papers that explore innovation, sustainability, and development within the global tourism landscape.
The journal emphasizes five integrated areas of research:

  1. Digital, Smart, and Communication Tourism – Exploration of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, big data, and digital storytelling that transform tourism experiences and operations.

  2. Sustainable, Regenerative, and Rural Tourism – Studies promoting sustainability, community resilience, and environmental adaptation within rural and heritage-based destinations.

  3. Tourism Market, Business, and Hospitality Trends – Analyses of traveler behavior, post-pandemic dynamics, service innovation, and the influence of social media on tourism decisions.

  4. Destination Governance, Policy, and Crisis Management – Research on collaborative governance, policy development, crisis response, and destination recovery strategies.
