Publication Ethics

The International Journal of Tourism Trends (IJTT) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved—authors, editors, and reviewers—to uphold ethical standards at every stage of the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism or data manipulation.

  • Submissions must not be under consideration by another journal or publication.

  • All contributors who made significant contributions to the research must be appropriately acknowledged, and any potential conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed.

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and reliability of the data, analyses, and interpretations presented in their manuscripts.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors evaluate submissions solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, institutional affiliation, or country of origin.

  • The editorial team ensures a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process while maintaining the confidentiality of all submissions.

  • Editors must take appropriate action when ethical concerns arise, including suspected plagiarism, data falsification, or authorship disputes, in accordance with COPE procedures.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback that helps improve the quality of submitted manuscripts.

  • They must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and refrain from using any content or ideas for personal benefit.

  • Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation.

Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

IJTT uses plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of all submissions. Manuscripts found to involve plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical practices will be rejected prior to publication or retracted if already published.
All allegations of research or publication misconduct will be investigated following COPE guidelines, and corrective actions will be taken as appropriate.

By enforcing these ethical principles, IJTT seeks to foster academic integrity, promote transparency and accountability in scholarly publishing, and contribute to the responsible advancement of tourism research worldwide.
